Putting Local Food
Back On Your Plate
Farmers’
Market
Created in 2020 to help feed local Barrie families when Covid left supermarket shelves empty, Farm-to-Family is still your most convenient source of locally grown & made food in the Barrie area of Ontario.
We allow you to eat well & side-step corporate price gouging of both customers and farmers. Your food money keeps circulating in the local economy instead of going overseas.

A Matter of Choice
There's a reason our regulars have been coming back for years. Word-of-mouth has been our only advertisement - but happy mouths are the best ambassadors!
1
Fresh, Local Products
Our seasonal produce is picked only a day or two prior to the weekly market. Our meat animals are raised within 30 minutes of Thornton & Barrie. Our baked goods are so fresh, they are often still warm when dropped off for your order!

Convenient Online Ordering
While we encourage you to shop from each of our local vendors in person, few of us have that much time available. Ordering online from so many local producers ensures you can get what you intended, in one convenient stop.
Central Pick-up Location
Weekly orders are available to pick-up at Thorganic Farms, just west of Thornton village. This location is convenient to western and South Barrie, Angus, Baxter, Egbert, as well as Thornton and Innisfil. And the setting is specacular!
At
Our Table
Meat -Dairy-Eggs
Raised here in Simcoe County and sold directly to you by the people who produce it.
Produce
Raised locally in season. We do allow produce imports off season to ensure variety, but many items are raised here year-round!
Bakery & Meals
Homemade by nearby licensed vendors, with no funny ingredients. It is FRESH!

How It Works
1) You place an online order from noon Monday until 8 PM Thursday
2) We notify each farmer of which products you are ordering
3) Each farmer/vendor drops their fresh products off at Thorganic Farms on Saturday.
4) You pick up your customized order in Thornton on Sunday.
We pack orders in re-used boxes. You are welcome to bring a bin and repack, or just bring back large, empty, clean boxes on your next visit!
You pick-up on Sunday, from 10 AM-noon, at:
THORGANIC FARM
7030 10th Line, Thornton / Essa, Ontario, L0L 2N0
Visit their butcher shop at any time during the week!

FAQ
How Do I Pay For My Order?
Payments are taken when you pick your order up. You can pay by credit and debit card, but cash and etransfer are also welcome.
What if I cannot pick-up from 10-12 on Sunday?
While we try to avoid it, we are happy to try and accommodate a few orders outside of Sunday. But keeping a variety of products at the perfect temperature is challenging outside of market hours. Please message Lisa at 705-241-7772 to see what may be possible.
Can I order more than a week in advance?
We update the market catalog each Monday, so items showing up this week might not still be available in following weeks. Orders will need to be placed in the same week you pick it up
Can I shop in person?
Unlike a standard farmers’ market, our market operates by pre-order. This allows our farmers to attend other markets in person at the same time, and it allows us to keep all items at the perfect temperature until you arrive. We DO encourage you to visit us at area farmers markets in person, including Barrie, Thornton and Innisfil. Alliston and Bradford.
Do Local products cost more than store products?
While our item prices may appear to be a bit more than the store, you are getting more nutrition and flavour for your money.
